Catch Up

OK so it's been a long time since I updated you all with photos and details of what's been happening up here in Gladstone. But for any of those people out there with kids you'll understand how busy life can get. So here is a quick list of what's happened in our lives since March last year:
- Julia came to visit us on her trip home.
- Went to Sydney in April for Prue's 60th birthday.
- Watched the Waratahs smack the Red's at Suncrop Stadium courtesy of Golding's members tickets.
- Prue had an operation for Breast Cancer - all clear thank goodness.
- Deanna, Steve & Cooper came to visit on their Around Australia Trip.
- Jane had her 20th year School Reunion in Armidale.
- Prue visited in October for some R&R after her operation.
- We went to Mooloolaba for a wedding and met up with Mick & Prue for a very enjoyable long weekend.
- Went on holiday to Hervey Bay with Madge & Iven for a week.
- JP & Liz's son was born, their first - Finn Harvey
- Andrew & Wanda's daughter was born their second - Emily Renee Hirschhorn
- We had everyone up here for Christmas. Firstly Mick, Prue & Stuart closely followed by Madge, Iven & Andrea. Olivia had grandparents up here for almost 4 weeks straight!
- We spent a week in Agnes Water over New Years - Jane got sick on NY Eve so the pair of us actually spent it in Gladstone Hospital!!
Obviously there have been plenty of photo opportunities so I'll upload some for you to have a look at.

Some News...
Well the last month has been frantic. We've had many visitors, Mick, Iven & Madge, Mick again and Prue. Jane has been to Newcastle for her dad's operation and back home again. Oh and Olivia had a her 1st Birthday!!
On her birthday we had a small cake at home with Grandpa Mick and then the following Saturday we had a party that Iven & Madge came up for. She got lots of fabulous presents including a climbing castle from her mummy & daddy. I think Jane invited eveyone she knows in Gladstone to the Saturday party and of course she stressed over the amount of food available but it was all good. Jodie made a lovely cake for us and along with the fairy bread and other lollies/chocs everyone had enough.
Jane has spent the past week in Newcastle as her dad was having an operation so Mick came up to help me with Olivia. The week went really quickly (for us up here anyway), olivia was perfect and there was no trouble. We had lots of daddy bonding time and throughly enjoyed it.
Today was the Harbour Festival Raft Race which I was Captain of!! We came a credible 5th out of 25 starters (a big improvement on last year) and won the prize for "Most Creative Raft".

Christmas Part 2
Well the actual holiday bit was pretty good. We just relaxed in Newcastle, caught up with friends in Sydney, went out to dinner etc etc. Of course Jane bought heaps of presents for Olivia, and of course olivia was more interested in the paper than the presents but overall it was a good christmas break. Olivia learnt to walk around Iven & Madge's coffee table, she tried to climb to spiral staircase at Mick & Prue's. New Years was spent at Sarah's in Coogee where we had aBBQ by the pool and watched the 9pm fireworks over the beach.
Here are some photos...
